Questions arose immediately after Anthony King, PDA/COO entered the first ever *PDA Players Club Online Tournament* this past Saturday, August 2, 2008. Not only did Mr. King enter the tournament but he won 1st place. This is one of the strangest occurances in professional sports/game history. People everywhere are asking:

 

Is it fair that an executive from the hosting organization enter as a competitor at all?
 
Well our News Team caught up with Mr. King after the tournament on Saturday and asked him:
 
News Team: Do you think that it's fair for you to compete in your own tournaments?
 
Mr. King: PDA Land/Live Tournaments, NO. Online Tournaments, YES!
 
News Team: What's the difference? You are still an exec of the hosting company.
 
Mr. King: Our Online Game *The PDA Players Club* is powered by: Game Colony. It is not powered by The PDA. Therefore, the domain is digital and has no bias towards any participant regardless of who they are. That said, I thought it more than fair that I compete.
 
News Team: Why do you think that this has caused such an uproar amongst the people?
 
Mr. King: Keep in mind, there is comfort in the familiar and this is UNfamiliar. Anytime that you dare to do something outside of the norm, you are bound to cause an uproar. Uproars aren't new. There wasn't always a 3 point shot in the NBA. And guess what, after they implemented it...there was an uproar. This time, it's an Exec of a Pro Sports/Game League that has competed in the league itself & won! Result: UPROAR.
 
News Team: Do you think that the people are more upset because you entered the tournament or because you won the tournament?
 
Mr. King: Let's pretend for a moment that I had not won...Do you think that we would be having this conversation? 
 
News Team: Like you said Mr. King "this is UNfamiliar" and people are talking about the fact that you entered the tournament. So yes, I do think that we would be having this conversation.
 
Mr. King: OK, Fair enough! I say that if I had not won, that this might still be an issue but I doubt very seriously if it would be considered an UPROAR. 
 
News Team: So, you're saying that the people are more upset with the fact that you won.
 
Mr. King: Absolutely!
 
News Team: How do you think that this will effect your business?
 
Mr. King: I think that my playing in *The PDA Players Club* will definetely have a positive effect on *The Players Club*. I am not just an exec, I am a domino player as well... and domino players like to compete. I say that if anyone has an issue with me playing in *The PDA Players Club* ... Join the tournaments and beat me. The stats will reflect loud and clear on the "World Ranking" page at www.pdadominoes.com
 
News Team: Ah, that sounds like a sales pitch. Could that be why you created this uproar?
 
Mr. King: Not at all, when I entered the tournament I had given no thought to an uproar.
 
News Team: Will you continue to play in *The PDA Players Club Tournaments*?
 
Mr. King: I will be there taking on all challengers... that includes *Kansas City Dominators* (who were a no show), *The Obvious Giants* (who were a no show) that includes Stephen Gibbs who showed up but shoulda stayed home with the rest of the SLEEPIN GIANTS. *The Bay Area Bone Slammers* (who were a no show), *The Murphy Boyz*, The Commission & The I-80 Connection...all no shows!
 
News Team: Why do you think that they were all no shows?
 
Mr. King: It's Obvious. These PDA Players from the above mentioned teams have never had the unpleasurable experience of competing against me or PDA Founder (& my cousin) Jay King in a professional setting as all the tournaments thus far have been on Land/Live of which no PDA Exec can or will compete. Now they have the opportunity to compete against everyone from all over the world, including PDA Execs and what do they do...RUN SCARED!
 
New Team: So you are saying that these teams/players are afraid to compete against you?
 

Mr. King: Put it like this... It's now clear to me where the uproar is coming from. As a matter of fact, the day after the tournament, I spoke with  Stephen Gibbs/ Obvious Giants, who is also ranked amongst the top 10 players in the world, and the only thing that was OBVIOUS...was his bitterness towards my win and his loss. He took 3rd and I took 1st. What does that tell you?

News Team: So you are saying that Stephen Gibbs started this uproar?

Mr King: Could be him or someone from his team...could be a dominator...could be anyone or group. Im just saying that if the *NO SHOWS* show up...we can solve any issues that they have.

News Teams: Sounds like a challenge.

Mr. King: Then let me fix the "sounds like' part of your inquiry! This is my personal challenge to all of the above mentioned teams.

If at least one player from EACH ABOVE MENTIONED TEAMS shows up & competes in a *PDA Players Club Tournament* at the same time, in the same tournament and beats me...I will personally pay that person $100.00

News Team: Sounds like you really are confident in your game.

Mr. King: They UPROAR real good. Let's see can they come together and get at least one rep from each team to show up at the same time & compete. Until then, I suggest that all of you go to the World Ranking Page at www.pdadominoes.com and read'm & weep!
